We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant / Accounting Specialist to support transport, customs, and accounting documentation processes within an international environment. This role combines financial accuracy with operational coordination, ensuring that logistics and customs documentation is complete, compliant, and properly reflected in the accounting system.
Accountant / Accounting Specialist (Transport & Customs Documentation)
YOU WILL
- Process and verify transport documents (e.g., CMR, AWB, B/L, POD, delivery and goods receipt notes, packing lists), ensuring completeness and data accuracy.
- Handle customs documentation flow (import/export), cooperating with customs agencies and freight forwarders to ensure correct data and required attachments for clearance.
- Process accounting documents (cost, purchase, or sales invoices – depending on scope), ensuring consistency with logistics documentation and internal requirements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies (quantities, prices, product codes, freight/customs costs, missing documentation) in cooperation with logistics, warehouse, suppliers, and finance teams.
- Maintain and update records in ERP systems, ensuring proper document workflow and audit-ready archiving.
- Support process improvements by proposing standardizations, checklists, and automation solutions (e.g., in Excel).
YOU NEED
- 1–2 years (or equivalent) of experience working with transport, customs, and accounting document flows.
- Practical understanding of import/export processes and cooperation with customs agencies/freight forwarders.
- Strong attention to detail, timeliness, and ability to follow through on documentation topics.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Dynamics / JDE are a plus) and good Excel skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally (finance, logistics, operations).
- English at min. B1/B2 level (for operational communication and email correspondence).
NICE TO HAVE:

Experience with 3-way match (PO–GR–Invoice) or AP/P2P processes in an SSC environment.

Knowledge of Incoterms and basic freight/customs/import VAT settlements.

Experience in industries such as manufacturing, international trade, automotive, FMCG, e-commerce, or TSL.
